FOCAL POINT: A microscopic fragment of reality
The starting point for a personal video project: inviting friends to come and sit in front of my camera and talk about their day. By making them comfortable, I would be able to come very close to the subject and zoom in on specific details of their faces extracting their face mimics. In montage, I zoomed in even further and slowed the video down tens of times. What originally was a normal conversation became a very beautiful fragment on itself. You get to pay attention to details, he skin, mimics, that are else easily overlooked. The mind begins to make its own story while looking at this video, facial gestures are set out of context and can be perceived other than intended.
